PPWR nu începe pe 12 august. Începe în momentul în care îți dai seama că nu mai poți amâna

Only 79 days left until August 12. This is not a dramatic line for a newsletter. It is an operational reality that our partner companies have been working with for months.

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 — PPWR — becomes applicable with its first concrete obligations on 12 August 2026.

Not through national transposition.

Not through additional ministerial decisions.

Through its direct entry into force.

From that date, any company placing packaging on the EU market — regardless of size, sector or country of origin — operates under a new legal framework.

1. PPWR is not about packaging. It is about control.

In 2026, companies are not evaluated by how many articles of the regulation they know.

They are evaluated by how much control they have over their own supply chain.

Who knows what enters the factory?

Who knows what leaves it?

Who can prove it tomorrow morning?

PPWR does not ask “what have you read?”

It asks “what can you prove?”

2. Most companies are not behind technically. They are behind culturally.

In our workshops — offered exclusively to Reciclad’OR partners — we see the same pattern:

The problem is not lack of information.

The problem is the reflex to postpone.

“We’ll see in June.”

“We’re waiting for the supplier.”

“It’s not urgent yet.”

But PPWR does not behave like a project with a deadline.

It behaves like a mirror: it shows how fast your organization can react when pressure increases.

And in 2026, pressure comes from the market as well.

3. Documents are mandatory. But trust is what makes the difference.

PPWR requires — unequivocally — documents: evidence, declarations, traceability.

This is non‑negotiable.

From 12 August, the absence of these documents means non‑compliance.

But alongside the legal obligation, something essential has changed: the way you are perceived.

Over the past year, across all industries, we’ve seen the same shift: pressure no longer comes only from inspections, but from the expectations of partners, clients, and corporate groups.

No one asks “what article did you read?”

They ask “how fast can you prove what you claim?” — with documents, processes, and clear decisions.

A company that responds promptly signals maturity.

A company that hesitates signals uncertainty.

A company that stays silent signals risk.

Documents are the foundation.

But in 2026, how you get them and how fast you can put them on the table becomes a test of credibility.

And credibility today is more volatile than plastic.

4. August 12 is not a date. It is a filter.

On 12 August, PPWR becomes mandatory.

Not interpretable.

Not negotiable.

Not “we’ll see.”

But beyond the legal obligation, 12 August acts as a filter: it separates companies that understand the pace of the market from those that still treat change as an administrative exercise.

In August, the world does not change.

Only the way the world looks at you changes.

Prepared companies will look professional.

Unprepared companies will look negligent.

And the difference will not show in documents, but in boardroom conversations, in negotiations, in how partners reply to your emails.

PPWR is a legal obligation.

But the way you react to it becomes a test of credibility.

5. Why Reciclad’OR partners are one step ahead

Because we do not treat PPWR as a technical topic.

We treat it as a moment of transformation.

Our partners have access to:

  • exclusive briefings
  • strategic interpretations
  • applied discussions on real risks
  • market scenarios
  • operational recommendations
  • small‑group workshops dedicated only to portfolio companies

We don’t just offer workshops.

We offer our partners a competitive advantage.

6. The next workshop — Thursday, 28 May

For our partners, every period of change comes with a natural question:

“How do we navigate this together?”

And our answer is never a document sent by email or a standardized presentation.

Our answer is presence.

That is why on Thursday, 28 May, we open again the doors of our headquarters on Str. Atena 11 for a workshop dedicated exclusively to Reciclad’OR partner companies — a space where we do not explain articles of the regulation, but context, impact, decisions, risks, and what PPWR means for your business in the months ahead.

Conclusion: PPWR does not start on 12 August. It starts the moment you decide to stop postponing.

Companies that start today still have time to reposition.

Companies that wait for June will enter August with unanswered questions.

Companies that wait for July will enter August with risks.

If you are a Reciclad’OR partner, you already have access to everything you need.

If you are not, it is time to ask yourself whether your current OIREP can take you through 2026.

Reciclad’OR is one of the most important OIREP-type organizations in Romania, with expertise in responsibility transfer, collection and recycling, environmental consulting, and circular economy.

If you are a producer, importer, or retailer and want to understand how to efficiently fulfill your recycling responsibilities, we are here!
