Examples of circular practices

There is no doubt that the transition to the circular economy will require improved and/or innovative packaging, products and business models.

Taking into account the specifics of Reciclad'OR's work, our collection of best practices will focus mainly on packaging. However, each example in our collection will contain essential information about the manufacturer, the brand, the circular economy model applied, the changes to the packaging and the packaging material.

Samsung – Circularity in packaging and product redesign

Such a strategy is specific to circular sourcing models that aim to replace traditional materials with renewable or bio-based materials, with the long-term goal of reducing the extraction of natural resources.

Lidl – The circular model of resource recovery – closing the loop

Lidl Romania launched in October 2021 its second collection of household items, made of 100% recycled plastic (the first collection was launched in April 2021). Almost 23 tons of recycled plastic were used to make the products in this collection.

Farmec – recovering and recycling packaging waste

Farmec, one of the largest Romanian companies, which markets products in over 30 countries worldwide, has initiated a take-back program as part of the “Take care of nature as you take care of yourself” campaign, offering consumers the opportunity to return used product packaging to Farmec and Gerovital stores.

Domori – substitution of packaging material

Domori has substituted paper packaging made from pulp with eco-friendly paper packaging. The packaging is made using part virgin pulp and part pulp from the waste generated in the production process – cocoa pods.
