PARADE OF SMALL BICYCLERS – 7th Edition
The only event dedicated exclusively to children passionate about cycling and recycling
- Growing today, tomorrow’s cyclists!
The Little Cyclists’ Parade, the only event dedicated exclusively to children passionate about cycling and recycling, now in its 7th edition, offers three reasons to celebrate in the centre of the capital: 1 June – International Children’s Day, 3 June – World Bicycle Day and 5 June – World Environment Day. The youngest, cutest and most active of cyclists are expected to discover all about riding safely on two wheels and the importance of recycling to protect nature!
The Little Cyclists’ Parade, which will take place on 1 June this year on the Kiseleff Road in the capital, aims to promote safe cycling among children from the youngest age and aims to teach the youngest cyclists the rules to be observed when riding on two wheels, both individually and in groups, familiarising them with group cycling.
The event is dedicated to all children who love cycling and the feeling of freedom it offers. The main aim is to teach young and older children the basics of becoming responsible future urban cyclists in a safe environment – away from any road traffic, a relaxed and fun environment. With the support of partners and volunteers from the Bucharest cycling community, participating children will learn about the safety rules they need to follow while riding on two wheels, how to manoeuvre their bikes through obstacles and most importantly, how to cycle in a group.
The Little Cyclists’ Parade is an invitation to a healthy lifestyle through sport and environmental protection.
On June 1st, for 7 hours (between 7:00 and 14:00) the road traffic will be stopped on Șoseaua Kiseleff, between Piața Victoriei and Arh. Ioan Mincu, thus reducing carbon emissions.
The activity areas will be located on the Kiseleff Road and will include:
- Skills tests adapted to each age group: moving through the milestones made of recyclable materials, following traffic signs, games on a bike, etc..;
- Platoon rides with respect for the rules of group travel;
- Creative recycling activities and the recycling trail;
- Creative and safe relaxation area, with learning through play of the specific traffic rules for cyclists;
- “TEDI Safety School”;
- Bicycle library on wheels – where you can also donate a book to children in the villages, so they can have access to many more words;
- Stand for bike adjustments and many other unique surprises!
Then we go to celebrate the Children’s Sports Day at the Arcul de Triumf stadium, together with the Ministry of Sport and several national sports federations, where all children will have the opportunity to discover demonstration workshops for 15 sports disciplines, with training sessions held by athletes, under the guidance of specialist coaches.
We invite you to join us on this adventure on two wheels with the 2000 children and adults expected at the event. Admission is free! In order to prepare properly, we invite you to register your children’s participation in the form on tiny.cc/ParadaMicilorBiclisti website.
