Sustainability Day lasts 24 hours. Recycling a package doesn’t.
October 27 was not chosen at random. On the same day in 1938, the Endless Column was inaugurated in Târgu Jiu. Brâncuși did not build it in a single spectacular gesture, but from the same module, repeated, stacked one on top of another.
It is the best definition of sustainability we know. Not an event. A repetition that never stops.
Under Law no. 157/2023, October 27 officially became Sustainability Day in Romania. A lot will be written about the future today. We prefer to show the recent past, in numbers. Nine years. Nine modules.
1. Consistency beats spectacle
From 2018 to 2026, Reciclad’OR managed a cumulative total of over 2.07 billion kg of packaging waste. The figure is impressive, but it is not the story. The story is that, since 2019, no single year has dropped below 225 million kg.
No showcase years, no one-day campaigns. One module, then another.
2. From 65 to over 1,300 companies
In 2018 we had 65 partners. In 2026 we have 1,338, more than 20 times as many. Producers and importers from retail, FMCG, pharma, electronics and cosmetics have entrusted us with the transfer of their responsibility.
Trust is not earned through a statement, but through a track record: 100% legal compliance since our founding, confirmed by state authority inspections.
3. Targets go up. Our commitment stays
By 2030, recycling targets rise for every material, from paper and glass to plastic and aluminium. For our partners, this should not be an extra worry. It is the promise we have kept since day one.
We commit to fully meeting every partner’s obligations, year after year, however high the bar rises. To anticipate change, not just react to it. And to turn every new requirement into a clear step, explained and taken on together.
4. Compliance has gone digital
In 2018 we were the first OIREP with its own online reporting platform. In 2019 we launched e-reciclare.ro, the first online recycling app on the Romanian market.
In 2026, Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) changes the rules of the game for every package. Our answer: SustainabilityPRO, the PPWR and CSRD legislative platform, and Yvora, the first app developed entirely in Romania for PPWR requirements, built by Circulad’OR with our advisory support. More than 200 companies already use it.
5. People are the part you can’t see in tonnes
No recycling target is met without people who sort correctly. That is why education is part of the model, not part of the decor: over 300 CSR campaigns, over 6,500 children involved and over 5 million citizens informed.
From the Ecology Hour in schools to clean-ups in Băneasa Forest and on Mamaia Beach, every project adds a module.
The next module
Brâncuși’s column has no end. Neither does this work. Between 2027 and 2030, the bar rises for every material, and PPWR brings new requirements for every package placed on the market.
Today, on Sustainability Day, we are not proposing a pledge. We are asking a simple question: is your company’s module for 2027 ready?
Let’s build it together. Write to us at office@reciclador.green or call (031) 9306.
