PPWR in Iași: Two days of hands-on work on real packaging, 45 specialists, 22 companies
From “what the regulation says” to “what you sign”
On 6 and 7 October, Reciclad’OR returned to Iași with a new workshop on Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR), with one clear goal: the Declaration of Conformity, completed on real packaging. The workshop was led by Marius Brînzea, Reciclad’OR’s Strategy Director. In the room were 45 participants from 22 partner companies. In each of those companies, they are the people responsible for packaging.
We don’t wait for partners to come to us with their PPWR questions. We go to them. Reciclad’OR workshops are practical, not theoretical. Participants work on their own packaging and their own documents, with our specialists beside them from the first question to the signed PPWR Declaration of Conformity.
We run them in two formats: at the Reciclad’OR office in Bucharest, with three more dates in October (15, 22 and 29), and, on request, at partners’ own sites, where their teams handle packaging every day.
Step by step, all the way to the PPWR Declaration of Conformity
1. Each company’s role under PPWR. Manufacturer, importer, distributor or packaging supplier? Your role sets your obligations, and getting it wrong carries through every document that follows.
2. The packaging specification sheet as the foundation. Components, materials, weights, colours. A correct sheet means a correct declaration. An incomplete sheet means a signature with nothing behind it.
3. Technical documentation (Annex VII). The evidence that has to back the signature: heavy-metal test reports, PFAS data for food-contact packaging, and the information suppliers are required to provide.
4. The EU Declaration of Conformity (Annex VIII), completed live. Not on slides, but on real packaging, field by field: packaging type, main material, what gets published and what stays in the internal file.
5. Traceability. Linking the specification sheet, technical documentation, declaration and register so that every piece of packaging can be traced during an inspection.
Yvora: PPWR managed in the same place as EPR
The practical part of the workshop ran on Yvora, the PPWR suite developed by Circulad’OR with advisory support from Reciclad’OR. Using real cases, participants saw how to build a complete packaging file, from the specification sheet to the register of declarations of conformity.
Since then, the platform has added new automation features: checking lab reports against PPWR thresholds, automatic translation of supplier documents, sending documents to partners, versioning and archiving of declarations, and importing a packaging portfolio from Excel.
For Reciclad’OR partners, the benefit is simple: PPWR compliance doesn’t start from scratch. It starts from a relationship you already have, with data we already know and the same people on the other end of the phone.
The PPWR Declaration of Conformity in Bucharest this October: 15, 22 and 29
We received more registrations than we had places, so we’ve added dates. In October we’re holding three more PPWR workshops at the Reciclad’OR office in Bucharest (11 Atena St., 1st floor, Sector 1), starting at 9:30.
The format is the same: a full working day on your own packaging, from the first question to a signed PPWR Declaration of Conformity. Bring your laptop, one or two real packaging items from your portfolio and the documents you’ve received from suppliers. The more “problematic” they are, the better.
The workshops are open only to Reciclad’OR partners, and places are limited.
Thank you to the 45 participants in Iași for your questions, your real-world cases and your energy. PPWR already applies. With the right partner, you can also get it done.
