Adriana Calcan, PR & CSR Manager at Reciclad’OR, Speaker at the National Conference “10 S for a Successful Life”

Commitment to Sustainability and Social Responsibility

During the National Conference “10 S for a Successful Life”, organized by the Florina Manea – The Right to Dream Foundation at the Romanian Senate, in the Constantin Stere hall on June 26, 2025, ten essential pillars for a healthy and responsible life were presented: Safety, Health, Education, Press, Science of Wellbeing, Solidarity, Sports, Lifestyle, Aesthetic Sense, Business Success, and Sustainability.

The event was organized in partnership with the Committee for Defense, Public Order and National Security, the Department for Sustainable Development within the Romanian Government, the Ilfov County School Inspectorate, and Emblematic Romania, as part of a national campaign dedicated to safety, health, and sustainable education among young people.

The S for Sustainability pillar was represented by Adriana Calcan, PR & CSR Manager at Reciclad’OR, known for her active involvement in environmental projects in Romania. She presented the results of her CSR campaigns implemented since the founding of Reciclad’OR—over 300 social responsibility projects.

“Without deep understanding and real awareness of environmental issues, any sustainability initiative remains just an ideal. Education is the key to transforming attitudes and generating concrete changes,” stated Adriana Calcan.

Adriana emphasized the importance of education and awareness campaigns in changing attitudes and behaviours toward protecting the environment. The event brought together experts, academic representatives, NGOs, and the general public in a joint effort to promote a responsible and sustainable lifestyle.

Education and Awareness – Pillars of Lasting Change

In the context of global environmental and social responsibility challenges, the focus is on innovation, continuity, and partnership in implementing CSR projects dedicated to promoting social responsibility and inclusion. These initiatives aim not only to protect the environment but also to improve community life.

One such CSR project that Reciclad’OR has joined is led by the Camelia Potec Foundation, which launched the ROMANIA SWIMS campaign in early June. This campaign includes three interconnected components:

A promotional campaign for safe swimming practices, through the celebration of National Swimming Day on July 19, dedicated to all who swim and love water and aquatic sports.

An event-competition for young swimmers aged 7 to 10, taking place on July 19 and 20 at the Otopeni Swimming Sports Complex.

A major sustainability component involving awareness messages and actions aimed at environmental protection and reducing water pollution.

Adriana Calcan highlights the importance of collective action in the face of climate change and calls on all stakeholders, from companies to individuals, to join projects aimed at building a greener and fairer future:

“Each of us has a role to play in building a sustainable future. Together, we can make a difference. Sustainability is a path we must all walk,” said Adriana.

The event concluded with a call to action for all involved parties—authorities, companies, educational institutions, and citizens—to support and actively engage in education and awareness campaigns to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
