Seven Questions, One Answer: PPWR Explained Live in Iași

On August 19th, the Misavan Trading headquarters in Iași turned, for a few hours, into the most practical classroom anyone working with packaging could ask for in 2026. Reciclad’OR, through workshop facilitator Marius Brînzea, Strategy Director, came in with a single strategic goal: to pull PPWR out of the “dense regulation, skimmed in a hurry” category and put it on the table as a to-do list, with clear deadlines and solutions.

Hosting the event was real proof of active partnership. Misavan Trading, one of Reciclad’OR’s partners, opened its doors and brought together, at the same table, the people who actually need these answers — quality, procurement, and production teams who work with packaging every day. Seven problems, the same for everyone

Before getting into solutions, Marius laid out the real problems companies have been running into lately — not hypotheticals, but actual situations encountered, package by package:

Suppliers are late with data. Technical data sheets and PFAS reports arrive late — or don’t arrive at all.
The Declaration of Conformity. No legal liability is established when the Declaration of Conformity isn’t signed.
Technical documentation (Annex VII) needs a structure, not a folder stuffed with assorted documents.
During an audit, chaos becomes visible immediately — scattered folders, emails, overlapping old versions.
PPWR requires complex expertise, and right now few companies have the internal resources for it.
Customization isn’t about format, it’s about system. This isn’t just about individual packages — it’s about systemic alignment with the legal requirements.
Recyclability rates become mandatory starting in 2030 — and the reality of that will start showing as early as 2028.
