Domori has substituted paper packaging made from pulp with eco-friendly paper packaging. The packaging is made using part virgin pulp and part pulp from the waste generated in the production process – cocoa pods.

This practice is specific to circular sourcing models that aim to replace traditional materials with renewable or bio-based materials, with the long-term goal of reducing the extraction of natural resources.

Features:

  • Resources used: packaging made of organic paper from cocoa bean processing;
  • Prevention: Partial reduction of virgin cellulose consumption;
  • Minimisation: Reducing waste generation in the production process;
  • Economic benefits: Optimisation of packaging costs by selling the pod waste to the packaging producer – Favini (a new source of income).
