328 entries submitted for the 20th edition of the PIAȚA Awards
The end of Wednesday, September 10, also marked the end of the submission period for entries to the PIAȚA Awards 2025, including the three-day extension of the original deadline. After almost two months since the launch of the 20th edition, on July 15, a total of 328 entries were submitted across 13 categories. All entries can be viewed on the COMPETITION ENTRIES page of the event’s website.
The most entries were registered in the Best New Product (81) and Strongest Brand (79) categories. Also, Category 11 – Best Sustainability Program in the FMCG industry received a high number of entries, 20 in total; of these, 12 are in the Social Responsibility Initiatives group (8 from supplier companies and 4 from retail operators), and 8 entries are in the Environmental or Circular Economy Programs group (4 from suppliers and 4 from retailers).
The 2025 edition, the 20th of the PIAȚA Awards, also brings a first-ever situation: in the Most Effective Promotion category, within the meat products group, no entries were submitted. The explanation may lie, at least in part, in the fact that suppliers preferred to run customized promotional campaigns for each retail chain, rather than nationwide or large-scale campaigns.
The submitted entries will be included on the ballots prepared by ISRA, the coordinator of the voting process, and then sent to the nearly 1,000 electors who are called to select the winners of the 54 trophies, using the cross-voting method: supplier representatives vote for entries submitted by retailers, and retailer representatives vote for entries submitted by supplier companies. From each company, only one person receives the electronic ballot, which must be opened and completed from a single terminal, and the ISRA-managed ballot box website records only one ballot per company.
The voting process is scheduled to begin on September 29 and conclude on October 15, to allow all electors sufficient time to exercise their right to vote.
The 20th edition of the PIAȚA Awards will conclude on the evening of November 20 with the PIAȚA Awards Gala, held at Bragadiru Palace in Bucharest with the support and involvement of PIAȚA’s partners:
