SABON ReCycle – The Partnership between SABON and RECICLAD’OR Celebrates One Year on April 22
On April 22, Earth Day – a day when we globally celebrate this generous planet, our love for nature, and sustainability – marks one year since we launched the in-store collection campaign for SABON’s plastic and glass containers!
The pilot campaign, carried out in partnership with RECICLAD’OR in just three stores in Bucharest, turned out to be too limited for the overwhelming enthusiasm of our customers who were eager to get involved, help, and be part of a project through which we give back at least a little of the care nature offers us every day.
“We admit we didn’t expect such a success for the campaign and so many requests from other stores across the country to be part of the packaging recycling project! We will definitely consider the idea of expanding the program to other cities,” said Cristian Luca, Country Manager of SABON Romania.
With support from RECICLAD’OR, we extended the “1 container = 1 point = 1 leu” campaign to all stores in the capital, and by the end of February 2025, we’ve achieved results we’re proud of:

More than 500 customers benefited from the program

We managed to collect over 4,600 packages for recycling

Over 9,000 points were awarded; 27% of these were converted into money by 29% of customers who earned points

Can we do more and better? Absolutely!
Reinvigorated by the success of this first year, we’re continuing the initiative, and throughout April, we invite all Royal Passport members to recycle with us – and receive 5 lei for each empty container brought to participating stores!
The campaign continues, now expanded, in all SABON stores in Bucharest. Don’t throw away your empty packaging – bring it back and enjoy a well-deserved treat when purchasing your favorite new products!
How the Container Collection Campaign Works
SABON packaging is 99% recyclable.
Once you finish a SABON product, all you need to do is return the packaging to any store in Bucharest for recycling.
The SABON RECYCLE program continues its successful partnership with RECICLAD’OR, with plans to expand the project nationwide. Royal Passport members are still welcome to bring in as many clean packages as possible.
Steps to follow:

Clean the product containers thoroughly after use and remove the labels.

Bring the empty containers to one of the SABON stores in Bucharest.

If you’re part of the Royal Passport club, the number of containers you bring will be converted into a voucher that you can use for future SABON purchases.
The voucher can be generated online in your Royal Passport account or directly in-store.
