Romania’s leading women were awarded Thursday evening at the Capital Gala “Top 100 Successful Women”. The “Top 100 Successful Women” Gala is one of the traditional events organised by Capital magazine and is dedicated to recognising the merits and involvement of women in the development of the economic, social, cultural or political environment in Romania.
Regardless of the field in which they work, Romania’s successful women have been included in a top 100 successful women’s magazine, Top 100 Successful Women, where their stories of exceptional careers were presented. Structured into 10 categories, Business, Management, Civil Society, Sport, Medicine, Media, Marketing, Public Administration, Entertainment and Education/Research, the top reveals who are Romania’s successful women with notable achievements in 2021.
The criteria considered for the Capital Top 100 Successful Women were: achievements, notoriety, career, social impact and involvement, story and influence.
At the Capital Gala “Top 100 Successful Women” the winners of the 10 categories mentioned above were named and several special prizes were awarded.

Diana Cîtu, CEO of RecicladʹOR, was one of the three winners of the “Business – Entrepreneurship” category, receiving the award for “Performance and Innovation in Sustainability”.
Founder and CEO of Reciclad’OR, Diana Cîtu was singled out for her performance in 2021, for her initiative to simplify environmental compliance procedures for small and medium-sized companies, and for supporting partner companies in their transition to the circular economy.
“We have been able to implement a circular economy consultancy programme within the company which is enjoying huge success and objectively helping to improve the development strategy of companies. Our seminars and workshops are now a ‘must do’ for many of the top companies in Romania”, Diana Cîtu told Capital Magazine.
In addition to refining the circular economy consultancy project, Reciclad’OR also aimed to simplify the environmental compliance procedure for SMEs that do not have a dedicated department. Recycling targets can be achieved in minutes on the company’s platform, the e-reciclare.ro portal.
One of the greatest achievements of her career in recent times, of which the entrepreneur is very proud, is the first place of Reciclad’OR in the specific segment of activity, being awarded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania in the annual awards for the best performing companies in our country.
Recipe for success
Diana Cîtu does not believe there is a recipe for success, nor that there is a 100% successful career.
“It often happens that the things we see are a little different from what actually exists. A successful woman has to be a man of character, work hard, really hard, be ambitious and, why not, have that ounce of luck in ‘sitting at the right table’,” the entrepreneur tells us. For Reciclad’OR, the recipe for success was the classic one, based on “a lot of hard work, good interdepartmental relations, a close-knit team, all working together in accordance with the directions set out in the business plan”, Diana Cîtu pointed out to Capital magazine.

Adriana Calcan congratulated the team of Capital magazine for the initiative to organize an annual event dedicated to successful women in Romania, but especially to all the women who are producing change for the better in our country.
“The award honours us and at the same time forces us to be even more responsible. I am happy to be on the same stage as the top ladies from Romania (including Mrs Elisabeta Lipă and Gabriela Firea). As my predecessors have said, I want to stress that without the team we could not be here today. And I would like to thank the entire RecicladʹOR team, from all departments, because it is a collective effort and without this involvement we would not have achieved this performance“, said Adriana Calcan, during the event.
