Reciclad’OR Workshop in Iași: Fiterman Pharma and Packaging Producers Working Together to Align with PPWR Requirements
Tuesday, June 2, Reciclad’OR returned to Iași for a new workshop dedicated to the application of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The event was organized by Fiterman Pharma, and the session was delivered by Marius Brînzea, Strategy Director at Reciclad’OR.
In the room were present the packaging producers partnering with Fiterman Pharma: Rodotex, Printco, Polirom Packaging, IPPU, Inovalabel.
It was, in practice, a complete meeting of all actors involved in the design, production, and use of packaging across the Fiterman supply chain — exactly the type of conversation PPWR requires.
Why this workshop was important
PPWR brings major changes for the entire packaging industry, and its impact is felt across the entire supply chain. If even one player in the team is not prepared, the entire team is affected.
Packaging producers must deliver scalable recyclable packaging, compliant with the new technical requirements on design for recycling, recycled content, and traceability.
Fiterman Pharma becomes responsible for the compliance of the packaging placed on the market and for the traceability of materials throughout the chain.
Supply chain partners must clearly understand responsibilities, deadlines, and risks before these turn into urgent issues.
OIREPs ensure technical support, reporting, and implementation of the requirements at national level.
The workshop created the ideal setting for all these actors to discuss openly, practically, and with a focus on solutions.
What we worked on together
Together with Marius Brînzea, participants covered:
- drafting the Declarations of Conformity (DoC) – Annex VIII of PPWR
- technical documentation – Annex VII of PPWR
- PPWR requirements on recyclability and design for recycling
- obligations for producers, importers, and suppliers
- criteria for non‑recyclable packaging and associated risks
- harmonized labelling and preparation of composition data
- practical scenarios for the Fiterman Pharma portfolio
- identifying critical SKUs and the steps needed for 30/90‑day compliance
Packaging producers brought essential technical perspectives for understanding the real impact of PPWR on design and materials. Discussions were lively, questions were relevant, and the overall approach was focused on concrete solutions rather than theory.
Conclusion
The workshop in Iași was an important step in preparing the industry for PPWR. Reciclad’OR remains close to its partners, offering clarity, technical support, and practical solutions for a compliance journey without ambiguity.
