Yves Rocher Romania, in partnership with Nepi Rockcastle, launches a project to recycle its packaging directly in stores
Yves Rocher Romania launches social responsibility project to promote the idea of recycling cosmetics packaging.
The project currently includes products from its own portfolio and is being carried out in 15 of the brand’s stores, found in Nepi Rockcastle shopping centres, both in Bucharest and in the country: Mega Mall Bucharest, Promenada Mall Bucharest, Vulcan Value Center Bucharest, City Park Constanta, Ploiesti Shopping City, Promenada Sibiu, Shopping City Sibiu, Shopping City Buzău, Shopping City Galați, Shopping City Piatra Neamț, Shopping City Râmnicu Vâlcea, Shopping City Satu Mare, Shopping City Târgu Jiu, Shopping City Târgu Mureș, Shopping City Timișoara.
“At Yves Rocher, caring for and connecting with nature is part of our DNA, convinced as we are of nature’s positive impact on our well-being. 100% of our products are designed to reduce the impact on the environment. So we are increasingly reducing the weight of product packaging (less plastic, less paper). From October 2020, all our bottles will be made from 100% recycled plastic. The opportunity to recycle our product packaging in the Yves Rocher store network is part of a series of concrete actions we are taking towards CSR and limiting the impact of our business on the environment. Today this is possible in partnership with the NEPI Rockcastle network of shopping centres in 15 stores in Bucharest and across the country. Our wish is obviously to be able to do it in all our stores as soon as possible. “Gabriel Dunăreanu, Head of Retail & Development Yves Rocher Romania
Each of the stores listed above was equipped with separate collection bins for cardboard/paper, plastic/PET and glass packaging waste. Customers are therefore encouraged to bring in empty, cleaned Yves Rocher product packaging to be recycled into new items.
“We believe in such partnerships that help strengthen NEPI Rockcastle’s commitment to a sustainable future. That’s why we aim to become carbon neutral by 2030 and have zero landfill waste by 2025. We want more initiatives like the one we are running with Yves Rocher Romania and we are helping our customers with logistical support, but we are also providing them with our recycling expertise. Thus, through all the actions we undertake, we want to educate the public and contribute to a nature-friendly lifestyle” said Bogdan Tabetu, Head of Property Management NEPI Rockcastle.
Alongside the Yves Rocher Romania approach was also the Reciclad’OR company, a leader in the market of responsibility transfer, by advising and identifying the best solution for the separate collection of recyclable waste generated in stores, for recycling.
“Reciclad’OR has redefined how companies can participate in a concrete way to protect the environment. Through partnerships with relevant Ministries, Municipalities, Community Development Associations, non-governmental environment, educational institutions and responsible companies, Reciclad’OR has created an optimal strategic network for the implementation of CSR activities to improve social life in the long term. Everyone’s contribution to the reuse, recovery and recycling of packaging and packaging waste is important. We are glad to be with Yves Rocher Romania in this commendable initiative, after the experience of the first sustainable ZERO WASTE project, carried out together, which was a real success in Romania and abroad” said Adriana Calcan, PR & CSR, Reciclad`OR.
Since 1959, the brand has been cultivating commitments out of love for nature. Yves Rocher is a botanist, grower, producer and distributor without intermediaries to offer its customers the best of nature.
