class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from the unprecedented transparency of national data \u2014 both through the monthly publication of DRS figures and the datasets released by the Environmental Fund Administration since 2024 \u2014 Marius Br\u00eenzea uses this information base to answer essential strategic questions for the entire packaging industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key data and conclusions presented in the article<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Together, OIREP and DRS systems collected and recycled 1,464,783,480 kg of two systems was not equal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">76% came from OIREP organizations (1,112,085,937 kg) and 24% from the DRS (352,697,543 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The article places these figures in the broader European context, where Eurostat data shows that Romania reported a packaging recycling rate of 37.3% in 2023 \u2014 one of the lowest in the EU, compared to a European average of 67.5% and a target of 70% for 2030.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, seven Member States have already reached the 2030 target \u2014 Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Czechia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Spain \u2014 most of them exclusively through OIREP\u2011type systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Marius Br\u00eenzea also analyzes the long\u2011term outlook for the DRS, arguing that as mature European deposit\u2011return systems reach a natural performance ceiling
