Bucharest, [August 18, 2025] \u2013 The countdown is on! On August 31, the capital will once again become the stage for one of the world\u2019s most spectacular amateur cycling competitions \u2013 L\u2019\u00c9tape Romania by Tour de France presented by Decathlon<\/strong>. For one day, Bucharest will be \u201cclosed to cars, open to cyclists,\u201d with major city roads temporarily blocked to traffic between 07:00 and 14:00.<\/p>\n

Now in its fourth edition, the event brings the unmistakable spirit of the Tour de France to Romania and promises a memorable day for more than 2,500 participants, cheered on by thousands of spectators, friends, and families.<\/p>\n

RESTRICTED TRAFFIC IN THE CAPITAL<\/h3>\n

On August 31, between 07:00 and 14:00, the following streets and main roads in Bucharest will be closed to traffic: Bulevardul Unirii, Bulevardul Mircea Vod\u0103, Splaiul Unirii (towards Bucharest), Bulevardul Decebal, Bulevardul Basarabia, Calea Victoriei, Bulevardul Regina Elisabeta, Bulevardul Schitu M\u0103gureanu, \u0218tirbei Vod\u0103 Street, Ion C\u00e2mpineanu Street, \u0218oseaua Kiseleff, Buze\u0219ti Street, Berzei Street, Vasile P\u00e2rvan Street, Bogdan Petriceicu Ha\u0219deu Street, and Bulevardul Libert\u0103\u021bii.<\/strong>
Organizers are working closely with the Traffic Police to identify the best alternative routes.<\/p>\n

A SPECTACULAR START IN FRONT OF PARLIAMENT \u2013 JUST LIKE IN PARIS<\/h3>\n

L\u2019\u00c9tape Romania is not just a race but a celebration of cycling as a lifestyle. Participants will experience the thrill of a spectacular start right in front of the Palace of Parliament<\/strong> \u2013 an electrifying atmosphere reminiscent of the grand finishes on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

With a format inspired by the Tour de France and adapted to the capital, the routes bring variety, visual spectacle, and a safe cycling experience on completely closed roads.<\/p>\n

ROUTES, EVENT SCHEDULE, RACE VILLAGE (AUGUST 31)<\/h3>\n

The three routes are designed for different ages and experience levels:<\/p>\n

    City Adventure \u2013 14 km:<\/strong> for participants aged 7 and above;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    The Ride \u2013 42 km:<\/strong> open to participants aged 15 and above;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The Race \u2013 85 km:<\/strong> for cyclists aged 15 and above, looking for a true sporting challenge.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Race Village<\/strong> will once again be located in Constitution Square<\/strong>, serving as the event hub and the meeting point for cycling enthusiasts, bringing the vibe of major international tours:<\/p>\n

      08:30 \u2013 Start for The Ride (42 km);<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      10:00 \u2013 Start for The Race (85 km);<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      13:30 \u2013 Awards ceremony and special activities for participants and spectators.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      LOGISTICAL SUPPORT, SAFETY, AND A FESTIVAL ATMOSPHERE<\/h3>\n

      Competitors will have access to 3 refreshment points<\/strong> (Start\/Finish, National Arena, Victory Square), as well as fixed and mobile technical support throughout the race.<\/p>\n

      The event will be assisted by professional medical teams, including SMURD ambulances (Type C)<\/strong>, ready to intervene in emergencies.<\/p>\n
