Cluj-Napoca, 1 November 2021 <\/strong>– Farmec<\/a>, one of the largest Romanian companies in the market, has reached 50 thousand recycled packaging in the campaign “Take care of nature as you take care of yourself”. Since April, when the social responsibility approach was extended nationwide, the most packaging was collected in Cluj-Napoca – 15,700, Bucharest – 6,580 and Brasov – 6,272.<\/h5>\r\n

The campaign was launched as a pilot programme in 2020, starting with five Farmec and Gerovital brand stores in Cluj-Napoca, T\u00e2rgu Mure\u0219 and Oradea. Subsequently it was extended earlier this year to more than 30 units across the country.<\/p>\r\n

Most of the packaging brought by consumers to the collection points was plastic – tubes of creams, shower gels. But there was no shortage of paper – secondary packaging for products from the Farmec, Gerovital, Nuf\u0103r and Triumf ranges.<\/p>\r\n

“Take care of nature as you take care of yourself” was our invitation<\/em>, and the results we enjoy today are due to the interest and active involvement of our consumers. We are proud to be one of the few manufacturers in Romania that offers customers the possibility to return product packaging. <\/em>As well as implementing this approach further in all units in the country, thus ensuring the closure of the life cycle of the products in the Farmec portfolio”, <\/em>said Andra \u0218umandea, Marketing Specialist.<\/p>\r\n

Packaging brought to collection points is taken to sorting stations for washing and chemical treatment. Further, the glass is broken into shards and separated by colour, and the plastic is melted down into granules. These materials are used to give life to new packaging or products made from recycled material and reintroduced into the economy. By collecting them, everyone contributes to keeping the environment as clean as possible, free of waste that can affect the entire ecosystem.<\/h5>\r\n

“We are happy to join our partner Farmec in this eco-project and encourage as many participants as possible to be more environmentally responsible. Let’s collect as much packaging waste separately and cleanly as possible<\/em>. This is the only way we will manage to recycle a large amount of waste and each of us will contribute to increasing the recycling rate in Romania.<\/em><\/p>\r\n

Everyone’s contribution to the reuse, recovery and recycling of packaging and packaging waste is extremely important. It is up to us what we leave to future generations. For every four packages from the Farmec portfolio brought in for recycling, consumers are rewarded with a gift product. In order to be recycled, containers must be emptied, rinsed and cleaned.<\/p>\r\n
