The European Union has issued a series of recommendations and directives that must be respected by each member state. In this regard, Romania has well-established targets for waste recycling. The recycling target for our country is 60% of the total packaging waste placed on the market. According to the law, companies that place packaged products on the market (E.O.R. – Responsible Economic Operators) are required to ensure that the packaging resulting from consumption is selectively collected and recycled in authorized recycling centers. Otherwise, E.O.R.s will pay a tax of 2 Lei\/kilogram for the quantities of unrecycled packaging.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRecycling Percentage: If we neglect the collection and recycling of packaging waste, the costs will be transferred to the final consumer. Studies conducted by economic experts predict price increases between 4% and 25%. Thus, a decrease in production\/import and consumption will be inevitable. Among the most affected product categories will be food products packaged in glass or metal. According to available data, EU recycling targets tend to increase periodically, which places responsible economic operators that generate packaging under the obligation to conclude firm contracts with RTOs (Responsibility Transfer Organizations), in order to avoid potential sanctions.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
